capital for a day trip.

Jacó is the closest proper beach to San José, an hour and a half by car. It pairs naturally with a session. You drive down for the morning, we read the chart, and then you either stay for the rest of the day or head back to the city by evening.

Sessions are usually online via Google Meet from your rental in Jacó, Playa Hermosa or Esterillos. In-person on the central Pacific is limited and handled case by case.

Jacó is the closest proper beach to San José, and that's mostly what it's for. A weekend, or a half-day reset for people who otherwise live in the Central Valley. It's busier than the rest of the Pacific and more built up, more honest than most about being a beach town. That reads as a downside or as exactly the point, depending on what you came for. Playa Hermosa next door is quieter and takes most of the surfing. Esterillos and the road south get slower the further you go. A reading from here often lands the day after a long week in the city, which is the right state to be in for one. Tired enough to actually listen.
