I'm Elena, a holistic therapist based in Costa Rica. I work with three tools: astrology, Gene Keys, and Human Design. I call them self-navigation systems because they don't tell you who to be. They help you read into what you already are.
Most of my clients arrive looking for a clearer sense of themselves: why they keep repeating certain patterns, where their energy actually wants to go, what kind of life is the right size for them. These three systems, used together, are unusually good at answering those existential questions.
Why I call them self-navigation systems
A self-navigation system is a map for inner terrain. It's not a prescription, and it isn't a horoscope in the supermarket-magazine sense. It's a structured way of looking at yourself from enough angles that the parts you couldn't see start coming into focus.
Astrology, in the way I practice it, reads the moment of your birth as a map of the forces you're working with. The natal chart names your strengths, your repeating challenges, and the seasons of your life that ask different things of you. Ageless wisdom collected by humans ever since they started looking at the stars.
Gene Keys is a contemplative system that turns 64 archetypes (the same 64 patterns mapped by the I Ching) into a personal blueprint. It works slowly, through reflection, and it's especially good for people who want to understand the deeper purpose underneath the surface of their lives. It is edgy, asks you to do some work for yourself instead of prescribing an answer.
Human Design is more mechanical, shows you the inner circuitry. It tells you how your specific energy actually works: how you make decisions, how you take in information, what kind of work and what kind of relationships you're built for. Very functional.
Used together, the three systems triangulate. When astrology, Gene Keys, and Human Design independently point to the same theme, the message stops being abstract. It becomes something you can act on. If you're new to the foundation, start with the natal chart reading.
How I came to this work
I came to it late. Costa Rica is a Catholic country, and that was the world I grew up in. When I finally started using these systems on myself, something opened. Self-compassion came first, then self-love, then a much clearer sense of my own potential. The shift was strong enough that I brought the tools into my therapy practice.
I've watched the same opening happen for clients. Often the first session isn't about new information. It's about hearing familiar information in a language that finally fits. We're all wounded, we all need validation for what our soul already knows.
My approach: empowering, non-dogmatic, and grounded
Empowering
The point is never to hand authority over to a chart. The systems are mirrors. You're the one looking. If a reading makes you feel small or trapped, I haven't done my job.
Non-dogmatic
No single system holds the final truth. One of my teachers, Caroline Casey, says: believe nothing, entertain possibilities. I work that way. I let astrology, Gene Keys, and Human Design speak to each other, and I pay attention to where they agree. Convergence between systems is where the real signal lives.
Grounded
The sessions stay practical. Minimal jargon. Clear language. Something you can use in your week. I'm not interested in giving you information that sounds profound and changes nothing.
A note on whether any of this is "real"
I know these systems aren't scientifically proven, and that's part of the point. Humans aren't entirely rational either. If we were, we wouldn't be destroying ourselves and the planet. It's the intuitive, unconscious, more-than-rational layer of these tools that gives them their power.
The systems work because they give that part of you a language. They don't replace therapy, medicine, or anything else you might need. They sit alongside those things and do something different.
The systems are mirrors. You're the one looking.
Working together
I offer private readings in English and Spanish. Sessions are available online, which means I work with clients well beyond Costa Rica. Readings are useful at thresholds: a job change, a relationship shift, a return to yourself after a difficult chapter. They're equally useful when you just want a clearer map of where you already are.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know anything about astrology, Gene Keys, or Human Design before booking?
No. The reading is for you, not for an audience of practitioners. I explain what's relevant as we go.
Is this the same as reading a horoscope?
No. A horoscope is a one-size-fits-twelve summary based on Sun sign alone. A natal chart reading uses your exact birth date, time, and place, and is unique to you. Gene Keys and Human Design are also fully personalized.
Do you offer sessions in Spanish?
Yes. Sessions are available in English or Spanish, and I move between them comfortably if that's how you communicate.
How long does a reading take?
A first reading is usually 75 to 90 minutes. Follow-ups can be shorter.
Will you tell me what's going to happen in my future?
No. Astrology can describe the kind of season you're entering, but it doesn't deal in fixed predictions. The point of a reading is to give you better information for the choices you're making, not to remove the choices.
What if I'm skeptical?
Skepticism is welcome. Some of my best clients arrived skeptical. Caroline Casey put it well: believe nothing, entertain possibilities. That's the only stance you actually need.
